Love, Lies, and a Rooster’s Crown

"Chen was determined to save up 300,000 yuan for the betrothal gift to marry his girlfriend, Eve. However, his grandfather, Dashan, devised a plan for him to ""wake up"" Mona—but it was misunderstood as a ""curative wedding"" (a superstitious practice where marriage is believed to heal illness). Thus, Chen, wearing a rooster headpiece, ended up in a farcical wedding with Mona, the ""comatose"" daughter of a wealthy businesswoman. When Eve learned about the 300,000 yuan compensation, she persuaded Chen to agree to the arrangement—only to secretly conspire with Sun, a smooth-talking returnee, to scam Chen out of the money. Unaware of the deceit, Chen remained blissfully excited for the wedding. In reality, Mona was faking her coma to escape an arranged marriage. While in the hospital, she accidentally uncovered Eve and Sun’s affair. To test Chen’s character, she set up a trap involving an aphrodisiac, but Chen resisted temptation at the critical moment. Touched by his sincerity—despite being used as a pawn in the ""curative wedding"" scheme—Mona decided to stand up for him. At the wedding, Eve and Sun publicly accused Chen of scamming guests for cash gifts, causing Chen’s mother to vomit blood in distress and Dashan to collapse in anger. Just as the crowd turned against Chen, Mona arrived with her bodyguards, declaring herself his rightful wife. Sun, flaunting his status, tried to harass Mona, but she had her assistant Zhang Qi summon her mother—who made a grand, commanding entrance. Initially, Mona’s mother opposed the marriage due to Chen’s humble background. Mona pretended to remain comatose, giving Sun the chance to scheme his way into the family—only to be humiliated by Mona’s clever tricks. Amid the chaos, Chen kissed Mona, ""miraculously"" waking her up. Sun later attempted multiple plots to ruin Chen, but all were exposed. In the end, Mona’s mother approved of Chen, who became the chairman of S Group and lived happily ever after with Mona."
