Died Before You Learned to Love Me

Charlotte expected her parents' love. After being murdered by her father's former criminal, her spirit returns home. Her parents dote on adopted Sabrina, ignoring their missing daughter. When Charlotte's headless body is found, her mother (forensics) and father (police chief) investigate but never recognize her. They grow even more protective of Sabrina, dismissing news of Charlotte's disappearance. Watching silently, Charlotte's hope fades to despair.
