After being ambushed in Chinatown for a mysterious glowing chip, software engineer Maya Wu is forcibly placed into a underground VR simulation as a tribal leader fighting monsters. When her simulated mission fails, her memory is wiped and reprogrammed by her captors. She returns to a seemingly peaceful daily life, completely unaware that her reality is an orchestrated simulation that is slowly glitching.
